Job-Fit is a program committed to assisting individuals who may have learning disabilities become more effective at finding and keeping a job. Job-Fit provides adults with group and individual activities focusing on understanding assessment, exploring learning styles and strategies, setting employment goals, becoming job ready, and making decisions about disclosure. Job-Fit Will Help You: Learn to focus on your strengths, rather than dwell on your difficulties. Understand your learning disabilities and explain them to others. Understand how learning disabilities affect your ability to work. Identify what might be a really good job for you, given your strengths and difficulties. Discuss accommodations you might need to be successful in a job. Job-Fit helps adults become job ready and improve their odds for gaining successful employment. It also helps adults improve their employment readiness and selfadvocacy skills. Job-Fit is based on research demonstrating that individuals with learning disabilities can be successful when they prepare for and find employment that fits their strengths, and when they understand what strategies and accommodations work for them.
