As the primary urban civic body in Kolkata, the KMC realized the importance of governance systems in order to cope with the rapid urbanization and provide simplified and efficient services to the citizens. Accordingly, it engaged the services of TCS to rollout IT and e-governance reforms, and develop a centralised Municipal Administrative System (MAS). TCS used its technical expertise to provide KMC with a robust integrated system that streamlined major processes and helped the organization simplify major municipal functions, decrease costs and increase revenue. CLIENT EXPERIENCE Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) is responsible for the civic infrastructure and administration of the city of Kolkata. It was set up in 1876 and is the oldest Municipal Corporation of India. The KMC caters to the needs of 10 million residents with the help of a complex multi-departmental set-up and network of fifteen decentralized Borough Administrations and one hundred and forty one wards.
