symbols above. The information is
provided for everyone’s safety.
When you handle these materials
it is your legal responsibility to do
so safely. You must know the
meaning of these symbols, and you
must know proper procedures for
handling them. It’s the law.
MSDS stands for:

You can get an MSDS simply by asking for it.
Employers and lab instructors must have them.
A dangerous container border is in the shape of a triangle, but a dangerous product border is in
the shape of an octagon.
The main safety items commonly used in chemistry labs are: lab coats, safety goggles, and
