Take select undergraduate or graduate UCR courses, and academic courses at UCR Extension to get in-depth knowledge in a variety of subjects, and build important academic and career connections for your future. UCP students must demonstrate an advanced understanding of English language and have a strong academic foundation. Once you check with your home institution to find out which UCR courses are transferrable, choose credit classes from across all disciplines. Gain access to courses in over 80 undergraduate majors and 50 graduate programs. Here’s How It Works Once you meet the prerequisites (see Who Can Attend), you can choose courses from the UCR main campus and UCR Extension. UCR Main Campus (Undergraduate and Graduate Level) Courses are available in the sciences, humanities, and many other areas at both the undergraduate and graduate level in the daytime and evening. n Our College Advising office helps you create the best schedule, and ensures you have a full course load of 12 credits.* n UCR is one of only three UC campuses with an undergraduate program in Business.** *Students may not get into their first choice of courses, because availability may be limited. **Some courses, such as in the MBA program, are restricted and/or require additional fees. UCR Extension UCR Extension offers a range of academic courses in a variety of areas during the late afternoon and evenings. n Many UCR Extension courses carry credit and they offer a unique opportunity to study with experts who are real-world practitioners. n Build your professional network, make connections you can use in your future career, and learn the latest techniques in your desired career. Who Can Attend n Advanced-level English required: minimum TOEFL 550 PBT, 80 iBT, or IELTS 6.5. n High school graduate with a strong academic record. n A recommendation by his/her home institution is suggested. n You may receive direct entry into the program with an official TOEFL score or equivalent; you will still be required to take an assessment test upon arrival. n This program requires an F-1 visa. What If I Don’t Have the Minimum English Skills Yet? If you do not have sufficient English skills to attend this program, you may join one of our English language programs first. University Credit Program (UCP) UCR Summer Sessions Smaller classes + a relaxed, fun environment + American friends = Summer Success! Combine a UCR Summer Session course with the UCR Extension courses you can take through UCP. You’ll get the same quality, content and opportunity to learn in approximately half the time as a regular 12-week session. Additional fees apply. n UCP in the summer is unique. You can take UCR Extension courses, but in order to enroll in a UCR undergraduate or graduate level course, you must enroll through UCR Summer Sessions.
