HOLY WEEK
MARCH 29,
2015
OUR PARISH MISSION: By the grace of God, we, the people of the Roman
Catholic Parish of Saint Frances Cabrini, firmly rooted in the Apostolic Tradition
of the Church and the Holy Scriptures, are called to continue the mission of Jesus Christ to build up the Kingdom of
God in the world through our faithful living according to His teachings, our proclamation of the Gospel by word and
deed, and the worship of God in our private prayer as well as in our public celebration of the Sacraments.
We have the strength for everything through Him who empowers us!

REFLECTION ON THE LITURGY OF THE WORD
n Palm Sunday we celebrate the triumphal
O
entry of Jesus
into Jerusalem, the week before his
Passion, Death
and
Resurrection.
Palm Sunday,
now referred to as
"Passion Sunday", marks the
beginning of
Holy Week, which
concludes on
Easter Sunday.
The Scriptures
reveal that when
Jesus entered
Jerusalem, the
crowds greeted him by waving palm branches and covering his
path with palm branches. Immediately following
this great time of celebration in the ministry of Jesus,
he begins his journey to the cross.
The biblical account of Palm Sunday can be found in
Matthew 26:1-27:65; Mark 14:1-15:47; Luke 22:1-23:56
and John 17:1-19:42
