This Program is part of GBF-CRE (http://faculty.uoit.ca/kanev/) as outlined below.
Global Bridge Framework for Collaborative Research and Education
UOIT<->Shizuoka University
The Global Bridge Framework for Collaborative Research and Education GBF-CRE
mainly engages faculty, staff, and students from the Faculty of Informatics (FI) at
Shizuoka University (SU) in Japan and the Faculty of Business and Information
Technology (FBIT) at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) in Canada.
A number of individual faculty and student exchange visits have been implemented over
the past several years e.g. Prof.Kapralos (2009, 2010, 2013, 2015), Prof.Hung (2013,
2014, 2015), Prof.Kanev (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015), Mr.Robert Shewaga
(2015).
A group exchange program will be implemented for the first time in August 2015 when six
UOIT students will visit Shizuoka University for about a week. In return a group of
Shizuoka University students is planned to be scheduled for a visit to UOIT later in the
year or in 2016. Shizuoka University faculty has been invited to engage in other UOIT
exchange programs with Europe (Germany, etc.) and Asia (Hong Kong, etc.) so that
Shizuoka University students could be admitted and benefit from those programs, too.
We are currently working toward implementing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
between the Faculty of Informatics at SU and the Faculty of Business and IT at UOIT. The
framework is also being extended university-wide and a MoU between the Research
Institute of Electronics (RIE) at SU and the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science
(FEAS) at UOIT is considered for implementation in the future.
