2015-2016 Season
Littleton, CO – Town Hall Arts Center is proud to announce the main stage shows for our 2015-2016 Season.
West Side Story
September 11 – October 11, 2015
Based on a Conception of Jerome Robbins
Book by Arthur Laurents, Music by Leonard Bernstein, and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
From the first notes to the final breath, West Side Story is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love
stories of all time. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City, as two young
idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate,
violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.
Shrek
November 13 – December 27, 2015
Music by Jeanine Tesori, Book and Lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire
Originally produced by Dreamworks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a TONY Award-winning fairy tale.
Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage, and proves there’s more to the story
than meets the ears. Irreverently fun for the whole family, Shrek proves that beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre.
Violet
January 15 – February 7, 2016
Music by Jeanine Tesori, Lyrics and Book by Brian Crawley
Based on “The Ugliest Pilgrim” by Doris Betts
Violet tells the story of a young woman’s quest for beauty amidst the image obsessed landscape of the 1960s. Violet
dreams of a miraculous transformation through the power of faith. Convinced that a televangelist in Oklahoma can
heal her, she hops a Greyhound bus and starts the journey of a lifetime. Along the way, Violet forms unlikely
friendships with her fellow riders, who teach her about beauty, love, courage and what it means to be an outsider.
The Man Who Came to Dinner
February 19 – March 20, 2016
Written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman
Celebrated theatre critic Sheridan Whiteside is in the midst of a cross-country lecturing tour when he slips on ice,
breaking his leg and is forced to stay a bit longer at the home of his host family, ultimately taking over the house with
his demands and visiting Broadway luminary friends. Rich with witty tongue-twisting dialogue and sharp zingers, The
Man Who Came to Dinner is simply one of the funniest scripts of all time.
Smokey Joe’s Café
April 1 – May 1, 2016
Words and Music by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller
The longest running musical revue in Broadway history, Smokey Joe’s Cafe is a song and dance revue showcasing 39
pop standards, including Love Potion #9, On Broadway, I’m a Woman, Yakety Yak, and more rock and roll, rhythm
and blues songs written by songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.
Legally Blonde
May 20 – June 19, 2016
Music and Lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, Book by Heather Hach
Based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture
A fabulously fun international award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical
follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams.
This action-packed musical explodes on the stage with memorable songs and dynamic dances. Equal parts hilarious
and heart-warming, this musical is so much fun it should be illegal!

shows at Town Hall Arts Center accessible to all, ten value seats at $10 each will be made available on a first-comefirst-served basis one-hour prior to each published curtain time.
