About Eagle
Eagle is an ‘all insurance’ brokerage with three main locations
across the mid north coast and northern rivers of NSW.
Eagle Insurance Brokers is licensed by ASIC and is a full
service general insurance brokerage with offices based
across the Mid and Far North Coasts of NSW.
The company started in 1999 and is led by Managing
Directors Matthew Denehy and David Bailey, who both
started in the general insurance industry in the 1980’s.
After working for more than 17 years for direct insurers,
David Bailey of Port Macquarie started his own brokerage
to give people access to all the insurers he had built
connections with, and help clients select the best options
from these respected
underwriters.
Matthew Denehy of
Byron Bay began his career in his family’s brokerage
before spending the next decade working with direct
insurers and insurance brokerages, building relationships
and gaining corporate knowledge. These experiences
later enabled him to advise his clients on a broad variety
of risks when he eventually bought the family business
David and Matthew both excel at complicated
business insurance and also love the challenge of placing
difficult risks. When they met in 2008, they recognised
an opportunity to join together and create a prominent
brokerage serving these regions and beyond.
Eagle now employs more than 20 staff, from individuals
with extensive industry experience to young players
leading the way in an increasingly technological
environment. Eagle has a strong commitment to
education and skills based employment, ensuring staff are
in a position to give the best advice to clients.
Eagle has built a significant network of insurance
partners over the years (more than 120 licensed Australian
and international Insurers, including Lloyds of London)
and has access to a large product base,
some exclusive to Eagle. Eagle is respected
in the industry which translates into higher
quality results and better deals for its more
than 4000 clients.

we have increased buying ability. For our clients,
this means we can negotiate better premiums
and policy options with the large insurers.

The Eagle EXPERIENCE
1 On contacting Eagle, you will be referred to
one of our brokers specialising in the type of
insurance you are seeking.
2 Over phone or by email, your broker will
identify what particular policy requirements
you have and will explain options to you.
3 The broker will then submit your insurance
request ‘to the market’. The ‘market’ is the
insurance companies, or underwriters,
who Eagle deal with. Eagle has access to
more than 120 companies in Australia and
internationally including Lloyds of London.
The choice of underwriter varies and is
determined by what type of risks you wish
to insure against.
4 Your broker will then review the premiums,
terms and conditions from the different
insurers we have approached. Your broker
will get back to you providing advice,
explaining the choices to you in a clear way
and answering any of your questions.
5 If you have to make a claim, we’re here for
you. We have a dedicated claims manager
to gather details from you and submit your
claim to the insurer on your behalf. They
will make all the phone calls and follow up,
providing instructions on what to do next.
