This booklet highlights a range of offerings, including career, financial, lifestyle and family benefits that are available to you exclusively as part of the Asciano team. Importantly, this booklet also provides you with quick tips on how and where to find more information about our current benefit offerings. There are a suite of financial and non financial benefits for people working within the Asciano Group which includes Pacific National and Patrick’s ports, stevedoring and logistics. 1.FINANCIAL BENEFITS attract a direct financial discount or gain of some description. 2.NON-FINANCIAL BENEFITS may not attract a direct financial gain, but are benefits which add definite value to your employment at Asciano and outside work. Who can enjoy these benefits? A range of employee benefits apply to all Asciano employees. The benefits outlined in this booklet apply to our employees who are covered by a Collective Agreement. You should however always refer to the relevant industrial instrument, policy or terms and conditions of employment to confirm that the benefits are available to you. Some benefits are offered directly through Asciano, whilst others have been negotiated directly with suppliers or vendors. We recommend that you consider all options and what is right for your personal circumstances before committing yourself to any specific arrangement. Where can I find out more? While we have tried our best to include as much information as possible in this booklet, other good sources of information regarding employee benefits include your Manager, HR Representative, regular newsletters, the new Connect Magazine, e-Link updates and our intranet site, the Junction. This section explains how your pay is calculated and where you can find out more information. Remember, it is important to refer to other sources of information about these topics including your own employment agreement, your Manager or HR Representative along with the Asciano intranet site, the Junction. Your pay – the basics Employees who are engaged under a collective agreement at Asciano will have their employment conditions, including rates of pay, determined by either an Enterprise Agreement or Award. Employment conditions within a collective agreement apply to all employees employed under it. For more information on pay rates, pay frequency or superannuation please refer to your relevant collective agreement. You can locate your collective agreement via the Junction under People & Learning > Employee Toolbox > Enterprise Agreements or via this external link: https://www.fwc.gov.au/ awards-and-agreements If you cannot access the Junction please speak to your Manager or HR representative. Employee Self Service (ESS) for payroll and other information You can take a look at all your weekly/ fortnightly wage payments and superannuation information by signing into ESS in the Peoplesoft system which can be accessed through the Junction home page. You can use the ESS function in Peoplesoft to review your leave balances, apply for leave and update your bank and personal details. If you are new to Asciano your Manager will confirm for you when your first payment date will occur. If you have any questions regarding your pay, superannuation or payroll deductions you can direct these queries to your HR representative and/or Asciano Payroll Services on 1800 000 042 or at payroll@asciano.com.au If you do not have IT access please contact your Manager who can request access for you by filling out a IT System Access Form. For any other IT related queries the IT Service Desk can be contacted on 1800 647 462 or at servicedesk@asciano.com.au Your Employee Benefits at Asciano • Toolkit for EA Employees • November 2014 5 Leave entitlements/options There are a range of leave entitlements in addition to your pay. Your collective agreement will set out many of your leave entitlements including annual, personal/carers and compassionate leave. For detailed information on your leave entitlements, please refer to your relevant collective agreement. Paid Parental Leave One aspect worth highlighting is Asciano’s offering of Paid Parental Leave. Our Company offers eligible employees 12 weeks of paid parental leave which is in addition to any support provided by the federal government through the Australian Government Paid Parental Leave Scheme. Asciano also offers 1 week paid leave and 2 weeks unpaid leave for a Secondary Care Giver upon the birth or adoption of a child. Community Service Leave Other paid leave offerings for eligible Asciano employees include Community Service Leave which incorporates Emergency Services Volunteer Leave, Defence Force Leave and Jury Service. Study Leave There is also an opportunity to apply for a limited period of Study Leave which is outlined under the Tertiary Education Assistance Policy. If you cannot access the Junction please speak to your Manager or HR representative. 6 Safety • Customer • People & Teamwork • Performance Salary packaging Superannuation Superannuation is the easiest way to salary package and to reduce your taxable income. For details on how to do this, check out the ‘Superannuation’ section under the Employee Toolbox > Remuneration and Benefits section of the Junction. Keep an eye out for onsite Superannuation Information Briefings held by Superannuation Providers. These briefings provide you with the ideal opportunity to ask any super related questions and are a great way to keep you up-to-date on what’s happening in superannuation. Novated leasing Vehicles are to be packaged on a novated finance lease basis only. The administration of the vehicle is fully managed by the novated lease provider. Vehicle type, lease terms from 2 to 5 years and residual values (subject to ATO guidelines) are at the choice of the employee. To confirm if you are eligible to take out a novated lease please speak to your Manager or HR representative. Further details on Superannuation and Novated Leasing are available on the Junction under People & Learning > Employee Toolbox > Remuneration & Benefits. Eligible permanent employees from certain categories are able to enter into novated leasing arrangements to purchase and run leased vehicles through their salary packages. BUPA health insurance While the Plan is entirely employee-funded (by direct bank account deduction), features include competitive corporate premiums and access to higher benefit levels. Our partnership airline, Virgin Australia offers several benefits for Asciano employees including status matching with Qantas Frequent Flyer memberships, discounted corporate lounge memberships for eligible employees and periodic discount offers on Virgin Holiday Packages and leisure Fares. Employees can simply register their details, activate their account and then shop online through the portal to receive cashback on purchases made. The discounts accrue as bonus rewards which can then be redeemed as cash or you can select to donate part or all of your rewards to a non-profit charity, school or sports group of your choice. Through the assistance program the services of qualified professionals are available to all employees and their families to support them in times of personal need. The core program provides online resources and confidential counselling services for employees via a well publicised 1300 number (1300 360 364). Coaching and support services are also available for our People Managers. In addition, on a per usage basis, trauma intervention and drug and alcohol assessment services are available via manager referral. Recently a new dietician service was also launched through the current employee assistance program. This service provides access to accredited dieticians who are available at no cost to all of our employees. The first consultation is conducted by phone and appointments can be made via the regular contact number – 1300 360 364. As is the case when accessing regular counselling services with the assistance program, employees will need to provide their OU/BU details when registering for the dietician service. If you are unsure of your OU/ BU details these can be obtained from your local administrator or HR representative.
