TARGET AUDIENCE
This program is for health professionals, students, and home users interested in leading a healthy lifestyle.
SUMMARY
The DINE® Healthy program includes computer-based applications that are designed to help participants track their weight,
nutritional intake, and amount and level of exercise in order to improve diet and fitness awareness and maintenance.

No peer-reviewed publications evaluating the effectiveness of this program were located.
COMPONENTS
The DINE Healthy program includes resources and elements for a variety of audiences.
Dine Healthy Web
Allows participant to track food intake and physical exercise online and provides the user with a personalized dietary
analysis; uses the DINE scoring system to rate food choices and energy balance on a scale from 0 to 100.
Dine Healthy Desktop v.7
Provides participant with software for a comprehensive diet and exercise analysis package that may be installed on a
single or multiple computer(s).
Dine Healthy Curriculum Guide
This guide was designed to assist teachers in raising student awareness of the relationship between good nutrition,
adequate levels of physical activity, and overall health. This guide also provides students with a system to evaluate the
quality of their eating; helps students determine whether they are balancing energy intake and energy output; and
provides strategies to improve dietary habits for a healthy lifestyle. Guide contains hardcover binder, five lesson plans,
handouts, computer activities, and sample printouts.
Eating and Fitness Excellence
Guides the user in achieving weight loss, improving cholesterol levels, and meeting other health-related goals through
the use of a free e-book.

No training is required to implement the DINE Healthy program.
CONSIDERATIONS
Considerations for program implementation include access to a computer and Internet and purchase of website subscription,
software, and/or curriculum guide.

Time spent entering and analyzing 1-day food
records and activity logs varies according to
familiarity with software and computer
proficiency.
Subscription for Dine Healthy Web is $35 for 6
months or $60 for 12 months; cost of the Dine
Healthy Desktop v.7 ranges from $29.95 for a
student license to $1195 for a client/server
license for 100 stations. The Curriculum Guide
may be purchased alone for $49 or in
combination with any other package for an
additional $49.
EVALUATION PLAN
To move the DINE Healthy program to the Promising category on the Clearinghouse Continuum of Evidence, at least one
evaluation should be performed demonstrating positive effects lasting at least one year from the beginning of the program or
at least six months from program completion.
