US/Canada Domestic Display
The US/Canada Domestic Display is different from the other fare displays:
• The display has one additional Dates column.
• All fares are one-way fares, unless indicated as round trip by the addition of an R
immediately after the amount.
• The symbol * between the line number and fare basis, indicates fare for display only - not
priceable.
• The symbol
- between the line number and fare basis, indicates fare is same day effective.
• The symbol ) between fare basis and the fare, indicates fare valid in one direction only.
• Routing numbers are shown in the RTG column on the fare right.
• An alphabetical list of the cities allowed in a routing is automatic displayed at the end of
the screen.
14
The fare list for USA or between USA and Canada is a bit different than the fare display for
the rest of the world. First of all there are no IATA fares for this market.

Reservation Requirements
You may display reservation requirements for each segment of the itinerary, either from the
FQD display, the list of fares after using FXP, FXB, FQP entries. This reservation
requirements display consists of the following information:
• Class of travel
• Reservation/ticketing restrictions
• Airline/flight restrictions
From a fare list you may check the correct booking class for each fare. The minimum entry to
display the booking code is the FQS transaction code, followed by a fare line number. The
list of booking classes is described in two formats, IATA Reso 100 format and Encoded
Rules format.
20
Encoded Rules format
Encoded Rules format displays both the basic booking class for the owner of the fare as well
as the exceptions for other participating airlines on a connection on the route. Automated
rules format fares are always displayed in this way.

ROUTING INFORMATION

23FEB06 1304Z
HOW TO READ A ROUTING STRING
---------------------------A ROUTING STRING CAN CONTAIN:
- A CITY CODE
- AN AIRLINE CODE
- A FLIGHT NUMBER
A DASH (-) IN A ROUTING STRING MEANS THAT TRAVEL CAN BE VIA THE
CITY OR AIRLINE. A SLASH (/) MEANS "OR".
TRAVEL VIA THE CITIES LISTED IS NOT MANDATORY, UNLESS STATED.
IF NO AIRLINE CODE IS INCLUDED IN THE ROUTING STRING, TRAVEL
MUST BE WITH THE AIRLINE THAT OWNS THE ROUTING NUMBER.
THE FOLLOWING IS AN EXPLANATION OF THE BA0028 ROUTING STRING
FROM THE FARE DISPLAY SHOWN EARLIER:
>MD
If *MPM* appears in the routing it means the following:
•
You have to calculate mileage between the cities that have *MPM*.
If the text Mileage applies from origin to destination appears:
•
You have to calculate MPM from origin to destination.
USA/Canada domestic fare displays will show routing numbers and an alphabetical city list
in the primary display. As this routing information does not show any directionality,
Amadeus provides detailed routing map.

Mileage Transactions
Ticketed Point Mileage and Maximum Permitted Mileage information is received from IATA
once a month. Use this transaction when calculating a fare manually, for ticket reissue
purposes, or making a refund on an unused portion of a ticket. The calculation considers:
•
•
•
•
Ticketed point mileage (TPM)
Maximum permitted mileage (MPM)
Extra mileage allowance (XTRA)
Surcharge levels
You may calculate mileage for up to 29 city- or airport codes.

INFORMATIVE PRICING
The Amadeus informative pricing function allows pricing of an itinerary without creating a
PNR. The informative pricing function provides the following methods of pricing an
itinerary:
• A circle or round-trip can contain no more than 16 flight segments, 2 of which may be
surface segments.
• A one-way itinerary can contain up to 15 flight segments, 2 of which may be surface
segments.
The system prices the itinerary based on the following parameters when no options are
specified:
• An adult passenger type.
• The current date for the first segment and open for all other segments.
• An open booking class (the system quotes the lowest fare for each possible general class).
• Common (YY) fares.
46
Request a fare without a PNR
You have to indicate all the cities on route:

PRICING
Amadeus Fare Quote system consists of several possibilities. When finishing a PNR you are
able to price the itinerary, store a TST, change the TST and display the TST.
TST
A TST, or transitional stored ticket, is a record containing all the ticketing information
attached to a PNR. A maximum of 10 TSTs can be created for each passenger provided that
you select different segments for each TST, as segments cannot overlap. A TST record can
apply to multiple passenger names if the air segments, fare elements and forms of payment
are the same.
When only one TST is attached to the PNR and no deleted TSTs are stored in TST History,
the TST may be displayed using the entry:
TQT
If more than one TST is stored, or if a TST has been deleted and stored in TST History, the
system displays an index of TST information.

Confidential TST
It is possible to make a TST confidential so that it can be displayed and modified by your

office can delete confidential TSTs, in the same way as non-confidential TST.
You can set the confidential flag for any TST that you create or retrieve. The confidential
TST is indicated by the addition of an asterisk (*) to the TST number.

Itinerary Pricing
The Amadeus Itinerary Pricing function prices all or selected segments/passengers in a PNR.
This is the requirement of the pricing function:
• A circle or round-trip can contain no more than 16 flight segments, two of which may be
surface segments.
• A one-way itinerary can contain up to 15 flight segments, two of which may be surface
segments.
To ensure that the system prices the PNR based on the passenger's requirements, optional
items can be added to a basic pricing entry.
Pricing with or without storing the TST
There are two ways of pricing an itinerary, depending on whether you want to store the TST
or not. There are several options to be used in connection with these two entries, some of
them will be described in this chapter.
FXX
Does not store a TST. If you just want to know the price for the
whole itinerary or just part of it.
FXP
Store the TST, for the whole itinerary or just part of it.

Pricing Override
Pricing overrides functionalities are permitted in all Amadeus markets. However, some
airlines may restrict the use of some or all override options. Pricing or ticketing by fare basis
overrides the normal pricing checks (for example HIP and BHC), allowing you to price or
ticket an itinerary with a specific fare basis code. The fare you want to use must be
maintained in the system, otherwise it will not be considered for pricing. When using the
pricing override options, the system validates the following items:
•
•
•
•
•
•
Stopovers
Surcharges
Child discount
Other discounts
Passenger type codes
Routings

Fare Discount Element
Fare discount elements (FD) store the discount information applicable to passengers or
segments of the PNR. By storing fare discounts, the system cans automatically price all the
passenger types in one transaction.
• There is a maximum of three discount codes per passenger/segment.
• The discount codes will be stored in the PNR permanently.
• The FD element may be segment associated without a TST.
• No FD element is allowed in combination with a discount code in the /R field of the
pricing command.
• The FD element may be combined with the Best Buy entry.
