When Maple Hill Creamery founder Tim Joseph transitioned
his organic dairy herd to a 100 percent grass-based diet,
conventional wisdom told him he “couldn’t make milk with
just grass.” Today, six years and 10 farms later, Maple Hill
Creamery is applying to be the first certified 100 percent
grass-fed national dairy brand. The result is a line of delicious
yogurts and drinkable yogurt in a variety of natural flavors.
Former Southern Season owner Michael Barefoot
is now heading up a small company importing one
of the most charming and delectable products
we’ve seen. Truffle Basket is literally that, beautiful
truffle baskets filled with intense dark chocolate
truffles, or as they say, “traditional French
chocolates presented in the basket historically
used for the ‘other’ kind of truffles.” The truffles
have been made in France since 1931 and are
deliciously decadent.

Arthur Schuman is bringing in a
wonderful line of Belgian cheeses
under the Brugge Cheese label.
Brugge Fleuron is known in Belgium
as “The Jewel of Bruges.” Fleuron
is made with the highest-quality
pasteurized milk from cows that
graze the unique pastures of the
Flemish Polders. It has a delightfully
soft, velvety texture under a brasscolored rind with a sweet, nutty
flavor and a slightly spicy finish.
Spread on crusty bread with beer
or wine.
