INVITATION TO & TRADITION of 8th ANNUAL DENISON IOWA CHRISTMAS CAROLING FESTIVITIES
Greetings! You’re extended a special invitation to promote, support, and participate in the 8th Annual
Denison Christmas Caroling Festivities on Thursday, Dec. 10h, 2015 at four senior care centers in
Denison, Iowa as part of a nationwide initiative to promote the overall theme of brining happiness and/
or enlightenment to the elderly, care-givers, and participants during the holiday season.
The holiday season can be a very challenging time for our friends in senior care centers.
Studies show that, while for many people it’s the most enjoyable time of year, this can be the opposite for
seniors residing in care centers because they long to be at their own home and suffer from blues,
depression, and even commit suicide. The music, love, compassion, and energy provided by the
participants can provide our senior friends much needed mental and spiritual healing power and growth
to address this situation.
The tradition of caroling for the elderly began for Vincent J. Leinen the co-founder of the Denison
Christmas Caroling festivity in high school, while singing at local senior care centers in Denison, Iowa
with the St. Mary Catholic Youth organization from Dow City, Iowa led by Virginia Rasmussen. It then
continued while attending the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Now a resident of Los Angeles, the
tradition has since evolved, grown, and expanded into a series of festivals celebrated across the country
from Florida to California involving over 1,000 volunteers. This includes the large-scale, must attend
holiday event (est. 75-100 participants) in Denison, Iowa.
This enjoyable and rewarding community service project is open to entertainers, singers, and musicians
of all talent levels and ages. It is a very fulfilling opportunity to give and to receive joy, happiness, and
holiday spirit to and from the elderly residents, care-takers, and participants, while enhancing one’s own
perspective and appreciation of life, health, and family.
The bottom line is that everyone will greatly benefit from the festivities!
A full media blitz promoting this message and event will be launched to many Midwest radio, television,
and newspaper media outlets, websites, as well as to local churches.
All effort given to support, promote, and participate in this heart-warming activity would be appreciated,
especially since your contribution and presence would greatly enhance the festivities for all involved.
For further details, please refer to the information included, contact Mark Gray at 712-263-6722 office or
cell 712-269-1265 or MEGray@mchsi.com or Vincent J. Leinen at Cell 818-429-1563 or BD754@lafn.org
or visit www.HolidayMusicMakingADifference.com , www.facebook.com/HolidayCaroling4Senior .
Please RSVP ASAP and if pertinent provide authorization to use your name on the invitation, website,
press release etc.
If unable to attend, you’re encouraged to take your own group or individually visit your local senior
centers or shut-ins. This simple act of kindness can make a difference and add true meaning for all
involved this holiday season. Experience the power, magic, and impact of giving music!
Thank you for blessing our lives and the lives of others. Happy Holidays! Mark E. Gray-Vincent J. Leinen -Co-Directors-8th Annual Denison Christmas Caroling Festivities P.S. Together we have the power to make a difference and to make the world a better place especially for our senior friends!
