DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor vital signs:
• Assist patient to change their colostomy bag if necessary.

• Teaches patients about personal hygiene, about prevention of infection,
exercise and safety

• Assist insertion of Foley catheter and nasogastric tube.
• Change patients diapers and assists patients in showering.
• Assist patient to change their position to prevent pneumonia and bedsore.
• Transfer patient from bed to wheelchair, wheelchair to bed.
• Assists elderly patients to make sure they don’t get hurt when they move
around.
• Keep the patient’s diaper always dry to avoid skin rashes and bedsore.
• Help patients choose recreational activities that fit their age and condition.
• Teaches patients about proper nutrition who are trying to lose or gain
weight.
