Furthermore, SPI research finding show a link between truancy rates in Indio. As a result, the Indio Police Department initiated a series of burglary prevention activities targeting predicted burglary “hot spot’ in the city. These placed–based policing efforts included enhanced partnership efforts, deployment of burglary plus truancy prevention task force and community outreach. The Indio Police Department is hosting a Smart Police Initiate Symposium to facilitating Research-Practitioner Collaborations in Law Enforcement scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, 2014, starting at 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, at UC Riverside Palm Desert Center, 75 Frank Sinatra Drive, B-Building Rm# B200, Palm Desert.
