Introduction
RCSI-MUB is a not-for-profit organisation. All fee income is used to operate the
University and any surpluses are applied to University development. The University
is governed by a Board of Governors.
RCSI-MUB charges a tuition fee which covers registration, tuition and supervision
for each academic year or part of an academic year that a student is enrolled. When a
student accepts a place to study at RCSI-MUB they assume responsibility for the
payment of their tuition fees. It is very important that students understand that
tuition fees may increase regularly due to increased running costs related to inflation.
Inflation has run at approximately 4% in recent years. It is likely that in some years
increases will be above this level, but in others they may be lower. No guarantee can
be given as to the year-to-year increase or the average increase over time. Students
are most strongly advised to bear this factor in mind when they enrol in RCSI-MUB. For
those students coming from abroad, it is also important to factor in accommodation
and living costs. A student may have part or all of these fees paid by another
sponsoring body.

Payment of Tuition Fees
Please note - tuition fees are a student's responsibility. If a student is not
paying the fees, that is they are sponsored, it is still their responsibility to
inform the Admissions & Accounts Departments of their sponsor's details. If
tuition fee payments are not made on time, a student's registration with RCSIMUB will be in jeopardy.
3.1
Private Paying Students
ƒ
A non-refundable deposit of 25% is due on acceptance of the place with RCSIMUB and the balance of the fees is due in accordance with the invoice must be
paid before the day of the registration.
ƒ
Invoices for tuition fees are generally issued during the month of July. If you
have not received an invoice by mid –August, please contact the Student Fees
Office – fees@rcsi-mub.com and request a duplicate invoice. Misplacement or
non-receipt of the original invoice will not be considered a valid reason for
failure to pay the fees by the due date.
3.2
Sponsored Students
The student must provide a letter from the sponsor prior to the date of registration
to be allowed to register. Any student who has not provided proof of full
sponsorship for funding will be expected to pay at least 50% of the fee prior to or
at enrolment.
If this is a sponsor with whom RCSI-MUB has not worked before, please provide
the terms and conditions of the sponsorship to RCSI-MUB. Once this has
occurred, all arrangements for fees will be made directly with the sponsor
3.3
Tuition Fee Payment
Payment of fees can be made by direct debit or by bank transfer. Due to security
implications, we cannot accept cash in the Fees Office. Cash can be paid directly to
Ahli United Bank, only if accompanied by an invoice and it is strongly
recommended that other methods of payment be used. All payments must include
your name and student number.
Any student responsible for the payment of their fees can make payment in the
following ways:
ƒ
Direct Deposit at Ahli United Bank:
Cash or Cheque may be deposited directly to the Ahli United Bank account.
The forms for the direct deposit are attached to the original invoice. Duplicates
can be collected from the Student Fees Office.

NB – When paying by cheque it is important to make the cheque
payable to:
Royal College of Surgeons In Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain
(RCSI-MUB).
Cheques that do not have the RCSI-MUB written on them, will be
returned by the banks.
ƒ
Bank Transfers:
Our bank details are as follows:
Bank:
Ahli United Bank
Account Number: 001-797799-002

AUBBBHBM
It is imperative that when instructing their bank, a student insists that the
invoice number along with their student number is quoted to assist us in
identifying the payment and allocating it to the correct account.
3.4
Instalments
Students can pay their tuition fees in two equal instalments. The first instalment is
due prior to or at enrolment. If at least 50% of the amount due is not paid at this
point, the student will not be allowed to register. The second instalment is due 1
week before the beginning of the summative examinations of the 1st semester. Fees
cannot be paid in more than two instalments.
4
Family discounts
We offer 10 % discount for your second enrolled child and any subsequently
enrolled child.
These discounts are only allowed where fees are paid on time. Any delay in
payment will result in the FULL fees (i.e. without discounts) being payable.
5
Transfer
RCSI-MUB does not permit students to transfer payments from one RCSI campus
to other RCSI campuses.
6
Refund of tuition fees
At present the RCSI- MUB’s policy is not to refund tuition fees.
