Academic Computing Services SCANTRON Model 888P+ The Scantron Model 888P+ is an optical mark reader (OMR) and is faster (scores 2000 tests per hour) and very quiet when compared to the 888 model. This scanner is a standalone machine and is not connected to any computer or printer. When feeding test forms through this scanner, test results are stamped on each individual form. This scanner approach does not provide a gradebook function nor does it provide a detailed printout of the results. See document ACS-233 to learn more about ParScore – a gradebook and test scoring software program available at the ACS Service Desk in LA5-371. Basic Functions Available Forms Test Scoring – Both Sides Now General Using both sides of a Scantron form, this scanner can score and error mark objective and performance-based tests of up to 100 questions at a rate of 30 to 40 forms per minute. # Items # Choices Form # Short Quiz 15 5 815-E Two Part Exam * 100 5 882 Two Part Exam * 100 5 882-E Two Part Exam 100 5 882-E-Lovas 50 MC 15 Match 5 MC 15 Match 883-E Four Part Exam 200 5 884-E Mini Essay Book 100 5 886-E Mini Essay Book 100 5 886-E-Lovas Item Analysis (Blue) 25/side - 9701 Item Analysis (Red) 50 - 9702 Item Analysis (Green) * 100 - 9700 25/side - 9601 Election Results Tally Sheet 100 - 9871 100 Candidates 100 - 100-B 15 Candidates 15 - 115-B 100 Candidates with space for names 100 - 151-B Percentage and Raw Score You can print the total number of correct answers as a raw score or percentage and raw score. It automatically combines these results into a single raw and/or percentage score of up to 150 points. Printing Correct Answers You can use either the standard error mark to indicate a wrong answer or you can have the correct answer printed next to the student’s wrong answers. Item Analysis You have the option to print an item analysis with class average using Scantron Form No. 9700. It prints the number of tests processed, number of students answering each question incorrectly and an average score. Short Essay, Multiple Choice, Matching Class Roster * Printing Rosters You have the option to print roster scores using Scantron Form No. 9601. This printout is dependent upon the order in which the student forms are processed. Printing Serial Numbers You have the choice of printing serial numbers on each of the student forms. Ballot Counting and Survey Tabulation Counts selections for individual candidates and survey items. You have the option to print the election results on an Election Results Tally Sheet Form No. 9871. ACS-232 – Revised: September 6, 2000 Popular forms are in italics. Visit the Faculty-Staff Computer Lab to review any of the above forms.
