SILENT AUCTION RULES
Briarcrest Family and Friends
For your support and generosity.
Each item of the Silent Auction has a bid sheet attached
to the table on which it is located. You may place a bid
by writing your bid number and the amount of your bid
on the sheet.
Briarcrest Faculty and Staff
For providing countless hours of your time to help
make this event a success.
The opening bid on each item must equal or exceed the
minimum bid stated at the top of each bid sheet. Each
new bid must be written on the next blank line available
on the bid sheet and must meet or exceed the “minimum
raise” stated at the top of the bid sheet. Bids will be
disqualified if the minimum bid or minimum raise is not
met or exceeded.
Briarcrest Room Moms and Grade Reps
For the incredible time you devoted to the baskets!
Briarcrest Students
For providing music, serving dinner, modeling and
displaying auction items and helping out in countless
other ways.
Platinum Jewelers
For donating the beautiful diamond for our dessert
toast. The pearls are gorgeous and the consignment
jewels are so appreciated.

All School Secretaries
Thank you for keeping us on the right path.
The Auction Committee has endeavored to catalog and
describe the items and services correctly, but everything
is sold “as is.” Certain items or services may have restrictive use or other qualifications which may affect the
value. For example, the vacation homes and condominiums are non-transferable. Purchasers are bound by
the precise restrictions specified by the donors. The
terms are not negotiable. Please read carefully any
specifications or limitations. Unless otherwise specified, all auction certificates and services must be used
within one year after the date of the auction - February
18, 2013.
The Auction Committee makes no expressed or implied
warranties or responsibilities of any kind or nature with
respect to the property or services, and in no event
shall it be responsible for the accuracy of description,
genuineness, authenticity or condition of the property
or services. No statement in the program, the bill of
sale, the invoice or elsewhere, or made at the sale, shall
be deemed as a warranty or representation or an assumption of liability. By his or her purchase, the buyer
waives any claims for liability against either Briarcrest
Christian School System, Inc. or the donor of the property or services. Neither Briarcrest Christian School
System, Inc. nor the donor is responsible for any personal injuries or damages to property that may result
from utilization of property of services sold.
Values set forth for auction items are donor’s estimates
of retail value. Briarcrest Christian School System, Inc.
does not warrant any value for general or tax purposes.
LIVE AUCTION RULES
The Live Auction will begin between 8:45 - 9:00 p.m.
and continue without interruption until all items have
been auctioned.
To make a bid, raise your hand or the paddle assigned
to you. When the auctioneer recognizes you, you can
call out your bid.
The high bidder will be acknowledged by the auctioneer. The recorder will write the high bidder’s number
and bid amount on a ticket that will be given to the cashier at checkout.
The auctioneer retains the right to announce conditions
of sale of any item. If the auctioneer determines that an
opening bid or a subsequent bid is not commensurate
with the value of the item offered, the auctioneer may
reject the same and withdraw the item from sale. There
may be a minimum bid on some items. The auctioneer
shall be the sole and final arbiter of any dispute.
Checkout opens at the end of the Live Auction. Payment in full on the evening of the auction is required
and may be made:
• cash
• VISA
• check
• Discover
• MasterCard • American Express
All sales are final. There can be no exchanges or refunds, except where expressly authorized in the auction
program.
Items should be removed, if at all possible, that evening by exhibiting a PAID receipt at the door at the time
of departure. You are responsible for removing your
purchases from Briarcrest Christian High school before
the start of school Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Contact
Gayle Newberry (901.482.1533) for extension of time.
