Youth Program Coaches: Enclosed are the UNOFFICIAL RESULTS of the 2009 Pepsi USBC Youth Championships District #6 Finals held at Empire Bowl on March 14-15, 2009. Listed below are the number of the bowlers that participated from each division and how many will advance to the State Finals (12-up divisions) and how many 11-under division bowlers will earn scholarships. Qualifiers and scholarship winners are marked in the attached listing. Please notify those qualifiers from your center and explain to them how to register. Instructions are attached. The RSVP Window is March 26-April 4. It is the BOWLER’S RESPONSIBILITY to register their squad time. If a state qualifier from this district cannot participate or misses the RSVP window, the next available alternate from that same division will be notified directly by us after the RSVP window closes. You can also download results from www.CalUSBC.com. The OFFICIAL results with scholarship breakdowns for both the 11-under divisions and the 12-up divisions (State Finals) will be available after the completion of the State Finals. All funds raised from this district will be pro-rated directly into each division’s scholarship fund. We also encourage your youth bowlers to visit us at www.CalUSBC.com to receive information on scholarship awards and other tournaments that are available such as our state championships held in the summer and our state scratch event held in October. We also offer a youth scholarship award for all USBC youth divisions, which is renewable up to 4 years. We strongly urge all youths to apply. We also want to encourage your youths to become youth leaders. They can become members of the California Youth Leaders Association (CYLA) and help make a difference in the future of youth bowling! Thank you for your support and participation in this year’s Pepsi tournament. Your hard work and dedication in helping these youth bowlers participate is very much appreciated. With the help of all of you, we awarded $70,000 in scholarships last year! We look forward to seeing you and your bowlers at the Pepsi State Finals at Classic Bowl in Daly City on May 2-3, 2009. RSVP Window: March 26-April 4, 2009 • State Finals: May 2-3, 2009 STATE FINALS QUALIFIERS: State Finalists (12-up only) will qualify from District to State based on a ratio of 1:5 per division and will be notified before the RSVP window. Qualifiers will also be posted online at www.CalUSBC.com. All state finalists are competing for scholarships. The 12-up scratch division is also competing for 4 berths (top 2 boys/2 girls) and a travel stipend into the USBC Jr. Gold Championships (July 2009 – Indianapolis, IN) as well as competing for additional Pepsi Scholarships. Please read the tournament rules carefully. You must REGISTER your squad CHOICE in order to bowl in the State Finals. FORMAT: FREE one-time entry. Each squad is (6) games of qualifying moving pairs after each game. After all squads are completed, the overall top (4) bowlers from each division (16 bowlers total) will qualify to the stepladder roll-off** held immediately after the last squad on Sunday, May 3.
