Introduction: There are many different ways to show that you have learned the key
information about meiosis. In a R.A.F.T., you have some choices about
how to show what you know. In this R.A.F.T., you can choose the product
format that best suits your strengths and talents.
Role: Cell that has just completed meiosis
Audience: A young cell about to undergo meiosis for the first time.
Format: comic strip, song/rap, poem, journal entry, recipe, advertisement (flyer),
interpretive dance, board game, or your choice (see Mrs. Abbott for
approval).
Topic: As a cell that has just undergone meiosis, you know the experience well. The
young cell is nervous about dividing and becoming haploid. You have a
conversation with the young cell explaining what to expect from the process of
meiosis.
Be sure to include the following in your conversation:
 The events of the different phases of meiosis
 The major differences between meiosis I and meiosis II
 The end product of meiosis
 How meiosis creates genetic variation
 The terms homologous chromosomes, tetrad, crossing over, synapsis,
independent assortment, chiasmata, germ cell, random fertilization, oogenesis
& spermatogenesis should be included
