An annual event that is hosted by the JCDC in collaboration with
the Blackwoods Cultural Committee and is promoted as a Family
Fun day. The day’s activities will include football, netball, domino
competitions. Rides and attractions are usually provided for the
children. Performances varying in dance, Speech and Music will be
done by the Blackwood’s youth group. This is usually a well
supported event as this community and surrounding environs
usually make a grand turnout. Traditional Foods and refreshments
will be prepared for resale; a sound system provides
entertainment.

Civic ceremony which will involve the raising of the
flag and will have in attendance Civic Leaders,

Salute to Portmore Municipality
A series of band wagon beginning in July in several
communities in which top performers will perform
on this show along with other guest artist.
Patrons will have a chance to view the Grand Gala
on screen while enjoying their own gala in Spanish
Town. Activities includes – kiddies village, dancing
contest, Independence Concert etc.
