Dear Engineer,
National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) invites you to join its nation-wide
community of almost 40,000 engineers at a special introductory offer for 6 months free. NSPE
and the Nebraska Society of Professional Engineers (NeSPE) is committed to enhancing the
image of the professional engineer and is dedicated to the ethical and competent practice of
engineering. Adding one more professional engineer, like you, will make the engineering voice
stronger.
The Nebraska Society of Professional Engineers is the recognized voice and advocate for
licensed professional engineers in the state. NeSPE works to promote legislation that best
serves the interests of our members and to encourage and facilitate PE involvement in public
service. As the only professional society for engineers in Nebraska that participates in the
political process at the state level, NeSPE, in partnership with the Professional Engineers
Coalition (PEC), monitors all proposed legislation, amendments, and interim studies that affect
the engineering profession. As a NeSPE member, you will enjoy opportunities to network with
key local, regional and state government officials and participate in legislative efforts to
protect and enhance your career as a licensed professional engineer.
NeSPE offers networking opportunities throughout the state. NeSPE has local chapters that
serve the areas of Scottsbluff, Kearney, Hastings, Grand Island, York, Columbus, Lincoln, and
Omaha.
NeSPE strives to increase public awareness of the PE's role in protecting public health, safety
and welfare by promoting the status and recognition of the licensed engineer in Nebraska. We
do this by supporting and participating in National Engineers Week activities every February,
by honoring excellence in engineering through our annual awards program, through service to
the community by hosting the Model Bridge and MathCounts competitions, and co-sponsoring
“Put the Brakes on Fatalities Day”.
We are confident that you will find significant value and realize the benefit of being a member
of NSPE and NeSPE. We encourage you to complete the enclosed membership form and take
advantage of the special introductory offer for 6 months free. Should you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to contact the NeSPE State office at 402-476-1188 or Steve Wadas, P.E.
NeSPE President at 402-750-2841 or stwadas@nppd.com. For additional information please
