Career Presentation Project
Objective: To demonstrate expertise in MS Office by completing a career exploration project.
Assignment: Explore a career on various websites, and create a custom PowerPoint slide show about the
career. Include information about the career, how you might go about attaining that career, educational
requirements and financial earnings. Take a career interest inventory and write a one page MLA-style essay on
the results of your interest inventory, and create an excel spreadsheet complete with charts.
Part 1: Career Interest Inventory paper
Complete a Career Interest Survey online and summarize the results in a word document. Format the paper in
MLA style and address the following in your write-up:
1. Name of website where you completed the survey.
2. Sample questions from the survey
3. Provide a summary of the results. Take a screen shot of the results and place the image in your essay.
4. A discussion of whether or not you feel the results were accurate or reflective of your interests.

1. Follow the guidelines in the outline on the next page to create your slideshow.
2. Apply various formatting to the slides and add animations and transitions to enhance the slideshow.
3. Add a hyperlink to the last slide that opens your excel spreadsheet.
Part 3: Get Real Excel Spreadsheet
Open the ‘Get Real” spreadsheet and follow the instructions to keep track of your daily expenses and earnings from
playing the simulation game.
