Man of stone,
What do you see?
Is it the chilled, whispering wind
Telling secrets to the stream?
Or the frost bit, red noses of lovers passing by,
Their icy fingers interlocked under a vast, blue, oceanic
sky?
Man of stone,
What have you seen?
Have you stood there through time,
Watching the seasons change under an everlasting sky?
Are you and the sky friends?
Always are you there, in the same place, at the same time.
Do you exchange thoughts,
Of the people walking through,
Gossiping through the rustling leaves?
Man of stone,
What do you want?
Do you wish to see a sight
You have long forgot after years of seeing the same things day in and day out?
Do you wish to see a world free,
Of the tragedy and misery which always is at the fingertips of all who breathe?
Man of stone,
Tell me your plan.
Tell me your secrets and the sights you have seen.
Tell me the places you've been and the places you'll go.
Tell me what I should know.
Man of stone,
I'm saying goodbye.
I'll hope to be back under a more friendlier sky.
Promise me you'll be there too,
With new stories and sights to share of your hopes and dreams and sights of despair.
