During move-in times, report directly to your assigned residence hall. A
residential life member will be at the front desk to give you your room key … the
only exception is if you are living in Reeve Hall; you will pick up your keys in
Lincoln Quad.
New students will receive their hall/room assignments before coming to
New Student Orientation … check your Sycamore email. You will have the
opportunity during orientation to change the assignment if you like and if
space is available.
DCI Participants need to contact Dr. Gross so she can alert Housing and
Residence Life to your arrival time.
MEAL PLANS
UNIVERSITY MEAL PLANS DO NOT GO INTO EFFECT
UNTIL FRIDAY, AUGUST 14, WHICH IS THE END OF BAND
CAMP. THE BAND WILL PROVIDE EACH MEMBER WITH A
MEAL CARD, WHICH WILL HELP TO DEFER FOOD
COSTS DURING THE WEEK OF BAND CAMP. YOUR MEAL
CARD CAN BE USED AT THE ISU COMMONS AND THE ISU
DINING HALL.
THE ISU COMMONS HAS FAST FOOD OPTIONS.
BEFORE BAND CAMP
What you’ll need for the season! • Black shorts All members are asked to bring a pair of black shorts with them to camp. Please find a pair that are mid-­‐thigh or longer with no (or minimal) logos, stripes, etc. These can be worn with the Marching Sycamores t-­‐shirt for designated rehearsals and performances. • White gloves All wind players will wear white, long-­‐wristed as part of the formal u niform. Glove orders will be taken at band camp registration. Gloves cost $5 per pair. • Black band shoes All wind and percussion members will need a pair of black (non-­‐patent leather) band shoes. If you already own a pair, bring them to registration to be approved. If you need to order a pair, you can do so through the member information form and pay for them at band camp registration. ($37) • Long black socks All winds and percussion need black socks mid-­‐calf or higher. Perhaps, even more than one pair. • Lyre All wind players (except tubas) are required to a have a lyre that fits their instrument. The university doesn’t provide a lyre for you • Flip folder Each wind and p ercussionist needs their own flip folder. You many use / purchase your own or the b and will assign one to you. If you purchase your own, you also need to purchase extra empty pages (15 empty pages). • Sunglasses Sunglasses are permitted when the band is playing in the stands. In an effort to be uniform, however, only a basic black frames and b lack lenses will be permitted. Campus Parking
Students are required to have a parking permit when on campus. Any
student who purchases a parking permit for the new academic year (20152016) will be able to use that permit at band camp.

Sticks and mallets will be provided for you. Cymbal players will purchase their
own gloves.
Three-ringer binder AND your own flip folder
Wear athletic clothes, tennis shoes, bring sunscreen, etc. You WILL be outside
during drum camp.

You can order through the ISU band and pay for the order at band camp registration. The
prices below are $.55 more than what is shown in the Band Shoppe catalog to cover
shipping; tax will not be charged. Make-up … please bring a make-up budget of $25 - $35
dollars to band camp with you. The guard will be visiting ULTA to purchase needed
performance make-up.
Captain Lyndsey Smith is collecting all size information for the guard. If you need to provide
her with information she can be reached at lsmith114@sycamores.indstate.edu.
2015 Season
What Will Be Provided
Formal Uniform
The formal uniform will be issued at no charge
to all students, and includes a mid-season dry
cleaning. These items will be issued during
band camp.
Band T-Shirt
Each member is provided with an official
Marching Sycamores t-shirt that will serve as
part of the casual uniform for some
performances and rehearsals.
Black Athletic Pants
Each member will be provided with a pair of
black athletic pants that will serve as part of the
casual uniform for some performances and
designated rehearsals.
Band Baseball Cap
Each member of the Marching Sycamores is
provided with an official Marching Sycamores
baseball cap that is to be worn by all
instrumentalist as part of the formal uniform in
the stands.
LUNCH at every home football game and
meals when we travel
Instrument Rental
Any student needing to rent a university
owned instrument will do so at band
camp registration. Kelly Fallon,
Instrument Repair Technician, will handle
rental contract and fees at band camp
registration. The fee per semester is $40
All drumline members must pay the $40
rental fee.
All FLUTE players will play PICCOLO in the
Marching Sycamores. You may bring
your own or rent one from ISU
Tenor Saxophonists … we have an
extremely limited number of horns … but
we have plenty of alto saxes to rent.

A final performance schedule will be distributed at band camp as part of the Marching Sycamore
handbook. Slight changes to this schedule could occur during the summer. Students will be
responsible for the performance dates listed in the band handbook.
Football Tickets
All members of the Marching Sycamores are eligible for two free
guest tickets to each home ISU football game. Ticket reservations
are due on Wednesday by midnight of game week.

Marching Band Jackets
Show your Marching Sycamores Pride… and stay warm at the same
time… by purchasing an ISU Band Jacket. Orders will be taken during
band camp. Jackets must be paid for at the time of order. Cost is $52
for both front personalization and back design.
