Students will continue developing their narratives by adding more sophisticated features such as dialogue and figurative language. This unit is expected to last approximately four weeks. Interventions for Struggling Students Extensions for Proficient Students Students that are struggling will be worked with one on one with the teacher or pulled out to have extra instruction by the interventionist. Students who excel will be given an opportunity to assist students who need extra help and they will be asked to design a game for a group that includes similes and metaphors. Students who fail will be required to retake the test. I would like to add more compare/contrast activities with poems and plays. I would also like to find more information on poems to help the students and myself better understand them.
