Service Definition
Issue 1.0 Summary
SmartCloud Enterprise (SCE) is an IBM owned and operated, secure, reliable, scaleable highly virtualised multi tenant/shared cloud infrastructure ideally suited to development and test environments as well as other dynamic workloads. It operates as both Infrastructure and Platform as a service with a number of pre configured software images available. Security is based on IBM standards with access via the internet, a virtual private network option is available and the service is run out of multiple IBM Data Centers. Billing for the service is on a “pay per use” basis. Overview of Service
A web‐based portal allows authorised users to log on at any time and monitor, manage and control their virtual environments. Administrator/user roles provide enterprise level control of clod assets and spending. Built‐in RESTful APIs allows customisation and automatic control of cloud server capacity. Service Features include: 
A choice of nine 32 bit & 64 bit virtual server configurations 
A choice of Microsoft; Windows Server and Linux operating systems 
A choice of preconfigured software from which to build private image libraries 
An option to add multiple blocks of persistent storage 
Network isolation options such as VPN or VLAN 
Premium support options as a supplement to forums 
A choice of six worldwide sites – The EU (German) site being that proposed for UK Public Sector usage. Monitoring and management of the IBM SmartCloud infrastructure with a 99.9% service level agreement. Features like ‘anti‐collocation’ and ‘virtual IP addressing’ help to build resiliency into customer cloud server environments. Service Accreditation
IBM's Services are only suitable for use with material than is no higher than Business Impact Level 0 in accordance with HMG Security Guidelines and as such the security and other technical measures are those set out in Section 7 of this Services Description. You are solely responsible for ensuring that any material you or your employees, agents or contractors load onto the IBM Service does not exceed that Business Impact Level 0 (IL0) and you agree that IBM will not be liable in any way for loss, damage or degradation of any material or any other breach of the [insert defined term for the Framework] in respect of any material loaded onto the IBM Service which exceeds IL0. 2 Full Service Description Information

Security of Virtual Infrastructure: 
Hypervisor‐based isolation with customer configurable firewall rules 
Physical firewall and intrusion prevention service/intrusion detection service (IPS/IDS) between guest virtual machines (VMs) and Internet 
Multiple IP addresses per instance with which to enable security zones 
Optional virtual private network (VPN) and virtual local area network (VLAN) isolation of account instances 
Connections may be encrypted and IBM is isolated from VMs by design (using secure shell [SSH] keys in Linux® and Microsoft® Windows® Server user access control) 
Client has root access to guest virtual machines allowing further hardening of VMs 
Shared images patched and scanned regularly 3 Security of Management Infrastructure: 
Access to the infrastructure is only enabled using web identity through the user interface portal or application programming interfaces [APIs] 
Complies with IBM security policies, which includes regular security scans 
Controlled and audited administrative actions and operations. Charges & Payment Options

Pay‐as‐you‐go billing ‐ Per hour usage charges for virtual servers, software images, persistent storage and IP addresses and per gigabyte charge for Internet data transfer 
Reserved capacity packages are available with preferred server pricing. 
The Charges for this Service is on the basis that no Guarantee is required. If one is required and agreed to by IBM then the Charges will be revised accordingly. 

IBM is continually enhancing this service – further improvements are envisaged in the following areas: 
Dedicated cloud delivery model with client‐dedicated nodes and resources (e.g. circuits) 
Networking and storage enhancements with multiple virtual private networks (VPNs) and additional storage options 
Enhanced usability via account management enhancements 
Cloud infrastructure enhancements including increased resiliency and performance; Image import/export and Integrated backup/restore 
Additional software images added monthly (both IBM & 3rd Party images) IBM Enhancements Options

SmartCloud Enterprise Plus (SCE+) – Offers a managed environment 
SmartCloud Managed Backup – provides a managed cloud backup service 
SmartCloud Virtual Server Recovery – To recover virtualised and non virtualised Servers 
SmartCloud Content Manager – To provide cloud based data storage and search. 
