CHALLENGE
– Make a large retailer‟s ENTIRE infrastructure
PCI compliant
– Thousands of programs used/stored CC numbers
SOLUTION
– Implement a system on the NonStop to create a
magic number that looked like a credit card
– Provide HTTP and SOAP interfaces to the new service
– When a real CC number was needed, the NonStop
would provide it to the application
RESULT
– Implemented in 14 weeks
– Another Tandem converted to a NonStop!
