Mead High School is a new, state-of-the-art 21st century rural high school overlooking the majestic Rocky Mountains. In its
sixth year of existence, it has established a culture of care and collaboration between students, faculty and community.
Students are engaged in a variety of activities that ignite their passion for academic and personal excellence. Our Faculty is
highly involved with the success of each student and is supported by energized and involved parents.

A minimum of 24.5 credits are required for graduation from Mead High School in the following distribution: 4 credits
of English, 3 credits of Mathematics, 3 credits of Science, 3 credits of Social Sciences, 2 credits of Physical
Education, .5 credits of Health, .5 credits of Fine Art, .5 credits of Practical Art, 8 credits of Electives.

Concurrent Enrollment
The Concurrent Enrollment Program provides juniors and seniors with the option to take college courses while still in
high school to “promote rigorous educational pursuits and provide a wider variety of options for students.” Students
receive both high school and college/university credit.
Class Rank and GPA
All courses in grades 9-12 are included in the cumulative GPA which determines class rank. Both weighted and
unweighted GPA’s appear on the transcript. Class rank is not the ultimate indicator of class standing, college
acceptance or scholarship consideration. It is important to note that electives taken by many Mead HS students for
diversity and enrichment are not weighted classes.
