Key Features of the Deployment Plan

First focus on establishing the Employee Portal (IBM) and the HR
foundation (SAP) … providing the platform
–
Given the current lack of easy access to information and the state of personal
management systems(email, global calendar), it is essential that our journey
begins with delivering an Employee Portal with basic enterprise applications and
global Notes Mail/Calendar.
–
The HR foundation will be based on a global common implementation of SAP
Human Resources. Provide initially self service and Performance Management.
–
Existing Knowledge Management and Business area applications will be integral
to successful eEnabling the Organization. They will be integrated into the Portal.
–
Business communication is critical to the alignment of employees to the
Whirlpool strategy and will therefore be critical to the first Portal release.
Begin with prototypes for learning and then deploy fast for maximum
value ... think big, start small and scale fast (crawl, walk run approach)
Key Features of the Deployment Plan
Once the Portal and Foundation are underway, we will provide
employees with releases of new value add features and functions
on a frequent basis
–
By leveraging the Portal framework to additional areas the employee will be able to
become more effective and efficient.
–
By leveraging the KM application to new practice areas and communities of interest
more of Whirlpool information assets can be easily accessed.
–
By leveraging the benefits of the HR foundation employees/managers will receive
more self service applications. Work Flow capability will be accelerated in this phase.
–
By leveraging the Communication and Personalization components we can target
messages and alerts to be prompted to the individual or work group.
This is journey which will require significant Change Management
as well as new eEnabled Systems to deliver the value of Revenue
Growth and Customer Loyalty
