We research, design and manufacture world-class lasers and advanced photonic
systems for use in a myriad of academic, commercial and industrial applications. Our high
performance systems are critical enablers in fundamental physics research and they’re
also behind behind a number of ‘world firsts’, from the first demonstration of ‘teleportation’
to the first stable ultra-cold molecules.
Our technology is also being used to enable advances in the commercial world, most
recently in the detection and classification of gases in the oil and gas industry and threat
detection for the military. Constantly covering new ground, we’re dedicated to innovation
too, actively involved in collaborative research projects and working on next generation
quantum technologies.
Founded in 2006, by laser experts Dr Graeme Malcolm OBE and Dr Gareth Maker, we’ve
quickly grown to become a leader in our field. It’s exactly this growth, that keeps us on the
look out for great people to join our team.

Our high performance products are critical
enablers in physics research and boast superior
build quality, patented enabling technologies,
pinpoint accuracy, intelligent software design, and
a full range of features and customisation options.
With a clear focus on developing existing and
new products, sometimes one-off solutions, our
product team comprises mechanical engineers
and designers, control systems engineers, laser
engineers, technologists and technicians.
RESEARCH & DEVELOP NEW IDEAS WITH OUR INNOVATION TEAM
A significant part of our work is focused on
innovation. We collaborate with individuals and
universities globally, work on European projects
and we’re actively involved in research into next
generation quantum technologies.
Our innovation team is full of ideas and always
prepared to experiment. It comprises project and
programme managers, laser application engineers,
scientific product specialists and bid co-ordinators
as well as specialists working on fellowships.
