May 22, 2014 for San Leandro. KP will be
proceeding with implementation.

Kaiser Permanente (KP) - The Employer - reserves the right to change, modify, introduce,
amend or rescind any proposals without establishing practice or prejudice as to its right to
negotiate an agreement.
The new San Leandro Hospital located at 2500 Merced Street, San Leandro, CA, 94577 will open
for member services on June 3, 2014. Hospital services in Hayward will transition on that same
date. The current 3rd Floor unit in Hayward will become the 4th Floor in San Leandro.
Beginning June 3, 2014, the hours of operation in San Leandro Hospital 4th Floor unit will be 24/7.

TIMELINE
The Shift/Schedules will be posted in the department on May 23, 2014.
The impacted employee Seniority list will be posted in the department on May
23, 2014.
The Rebid date will be May 28, 2014.
The Rebid results will be communicated on May 29, 2014.
New Shift/Schedules will be implemented beginning June 15, 2014.

SELECTION PROCESS
The Staff will review Shift/Schedules posted in the department on May 23, 2014.
Rebid selection is based on an equivalent FTE only. For example, a 1.0 FTE
Nurse may bid on any 1.0 available bid line regardless of shift.
Rebid selection process will take place in a location to be determined.
Rebid selection process will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
Each Staff member will have ten (10) minutes to make their selection.
Nurses not available on May 28, 2014 to make an in-person selection are to
provide a proxy identifying their top three (3) choices, and a telephone number
should they need to be contacted.
The Rebid selection process will be conducted by seniority.
A designated CNA representative will be present during the schedule bid
process.
A designated KP Leader will be present during the schedule bid process.
Positions not filled during the Rebid selection process, can be assigned
according to the CBA.
8. First Preference
The displaced Staff Nurses will have first preference for open vacancies referenced
in proposal #5 above.
9. Training (if applicable)
All impacted Staff Nurses will be provided orientation and training to specific job
requirements. The Employer and the Union mutually agree that additional training may be
provided if necessary.
10. Existing Approved Time Off
The Employer will honor approved requests for time off submitted on or before March 15,
2014.
11. 30, 60, 90 Day Check In
The Employer and the Union recognize the mutual benefit of joint meetings of
representatives of both parties. Therefore, this check-in process is established to
discuss and make recommendations in areas of concern. The meeting will
be scheduled at a time that does not interfere with the daily operation. Agenda
items for the meeting will be exchanged by both parties at least three (3) days prior to
the meeting. However, it is understood and agreed that representatives for both
parties will not have the authority to receive or resolve Union grievances or engage in
collective bargaining. The Employer and the Union determine and agree upon the number
of attendees for each meeting. Nurse Representatives/Employees designated by both
parties from Adult Patient Care Services to attend the meeting during his/her scheduled
shift will be paid for the time attending the meeting. Nurse Representatives/Employees

scheduled to attend the meeting on his/her day off will not be paid for the time attending
the meeting.
