Bump is an app that allows students to share information (pictures, contacts, etc.) from one iPod to another. This is helpful when students are working together to form flashcard sets, presentations, etc.

uTalk French is a fun, interactive learning tool that provides key words, phrases and structures, along with tips for remembering them. Includes quizzes, speech recording and playback, native speakers, games, etc.

iGrammar

French iGrammar French is a basic French grammar reference tool with rules for verb tenses and moods, adjectives, articles, pronouns, prepositions, comparison, and object remplacement.

Free French Tutor teaches and reviews French grammar and vocabulary with native speaker audio, puzzles and games, writeins, manual and automatic flashcards and multiple choice quizzes.

Gengo French Grammar reviews French grammar in a variety of modes and at various levels of proficiency.

Flashcards for Kids is a fun and simple learning tool that provides pictures along with the words for objets in English, French and Spanish. Audio is provided by native speakers.

iRime iRime is a rhyming dicitionary. Students can look up words in French and find rhyming French words. This is particularly useful in French IV when we write original poems (odes, ballads, etc.).

FlashCards and gFlash+ are apps that allow students to download pre-designed flashcards (there are several sets of French grammar and vocabulary), as well as to create their own sets of flashcards. They can put images on one side of the card, and write and/or say the corresponding French word on the other side of the card.

& Le Monde.fr are online versions of Paris’ two most popular newspapers. These apps allow students to remain current on news in France, and to read the French opinions and perceptions of events that are occurring in the US. I have required students to research specific topics, but have also allowed them to find their own articles of interest. We do an activity I call Info, Sporto, Météo (News, Sports and Weather) where students talk about what happened over the weekend

(personally, locally, nationally, and in France).

Paris à pied Paris à Pied allows students to view pictures, videos, and locations of various points of interest along a walking tour of Paris.

Chanel Students may watch Paris fashion shows. Students will use this app in French I when they learn clothing and perform their own fashion shows.

Printemps Printemps is a guide, size chart and catalogue for one of France's premiere department stores.

Mode Mode is a fashion news site with articles and video of Paris runway shows.
