Welcome to AP Environmental Science! We are going to have a really great year! To get us started thinking about the environment we are going to do some reading over the summer. Below you will find a list of books that are all well known and pertain to this course. As we go through the course you will find yourself thinking about what you read and relate it to what we are learning. Your job this summer is to choose one of the books from this reading list and do the following assignment. Can’t wait to meet you! -Mrs. Kamienski Summer Assignment: (3 parts) 1. Select a book from the list below, record the title, author and date published. 2. As you read create and keep a daily journal (see example below) of what you read. Include the date and page numbers in the journal. 3. Write down any important information and take notes on what you read that day. Also write down any new vocabulary words that you do not understand. 4. Respond to the reading. Write down any feelings that you have about the reading, positive or negative, in the journal. 5. Lastly, complete a final summary . Describe the new information you learned through reading this book. What information affected you the most? Was it a good book? Would you recommend it to others? **How do you think it will relate to this course? 6. Please have this assignment completed and ready for Monday, September 7th.
