The Tivoli Service Request Management (TSRM) / IBM SmartCloud Control Desk Asset Administrator
will act as a technical administrator for the Information Technology Division’s installation of the IBM
TSRM Service Desk, branded as COMiT within ITD, to support ITIL processes across the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The incumbent is responsible for the configuration and administration
of this WebSphere based application. In addition, the incumbent will exercise independent judgment in
interpretation and/or development of new guidelines and procedures.
•
Working knowledge of ITIL and the implementation of ITIL Processes with Service Desk and
Change Management procedures.
•
Configure TSRM / IBM SmartCloud Control Desk where necessary to improve business
objectives including Configuration Items, Software Licensing and discovery reconciliation.
•
Engage vendors on support tickets and enhancement requests.
•
Participate in design walk-throughs for review and sign off.

•
Collaborate with stake-holders to conduct and demonstrate proof-of-concepts for new products
and architectures.
•
Support TSRM to ensure system availability, performance and recovery objectives are
consistently met.
•
Responsible to stay engaged with multiple projects and provide architectural/design oversight for
IT consolidation projects.
The incumbent must be technically competent in the support of three-tiered architectures, as well as be
able to gather and analyze data through interview, observation, design workshops and independent
research.
The incumbent must possess strong knowledge of computer, system and network protocols and
architectures, especially in large heterogeneous, client server environments. Strong knowledge of and/or
experience with Internet and Intranet Web-based architecture and services.
Qualifications:
•
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both
technical and non-technical audiences at various levels within the organization
•
Demonstrated proficiency with development and configuration of IBM Tivoli (Maximo) product line
including IBM Tivoli Service Request Manager (TSRM) or IBM SmartCloud Control Desk products
•
Demonstrated experience implementing IBM Tivoli (Maximo) or 3+ year current experience within
IBM Service Management Solutions
•
Demonstrated knowledge of Asset Management, Configuration Items and Change Management
within Asset Life Cycle administration
•
Demonstrated knowledge of Data Center Hardware including Chassis, Blades, Servers, Circuits,
Computers, etc.
•
Experience utilizing Tivoli Asset Management for IT (TAMIT) preferred
•
Experience with Integration Composer and Maximo Integration Framework preferred
•
Experience with Data migrations and integrations with external systems
•
Experience with supporting WebSphere on Windows preferred
•
Knowledge of J2EE Application Standards preferred
•
Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Standards preferred
