Course Overview
Strategic planning is a direction where team, department or organization needs to go,
starting where it is and moving to where it wants to get to. This course takes you right
through the strategic planning process with helpful tools, techniques and ideas for every
stage to enhance strategic skills. The course is designed to combine proven-by-practice
methods with new insight and ideas from a wide range of current strategic thinking.
This workshop is designed to provide participants with current understanding of strategic
planning and knowing how to effectively analyze and apply knowledge for effective strategic
planning skills. It provides comprehensive understanding of strategic planning. Participants
will develop a practical understanding of organization strategic planning. It brings together
various models for strategic planning such as Balanced Scorecard, RBM Framework and
Management by Objectives (MBO) for effective delivery of a corporate strategy
By the end of the strategic planning training course participants will be confident in
differentiating strategic from business planning. You will recognize the importance and value
of detailed analysis and have experience in using a variety of tools and techniques. You will
have an appreciation of the relationship between organization’s vision and mission and its
future and will have applied this thinking to your own organization. You will have a clear
understanding of monitoring and evaluation, and will have improved your strategic thinking
skills.
Course Methodology
The Workshop will be conducted through lectures, class discussions, group case studies and
video presentations. The details of topic covered are shown here under. The methodology
built in this workshop will help participants to understand and develop strategic planning skills
and to apply what they have learned on a real-life work environment enabling organizations
to obtain value for money.
Strategic Planning Tools
Participants will take home strategic planning tools. This is a collection of several check list,
forms, graphs, sample of strategic planning workbook and handouts using Balanced
Scorecard Framework. The tools will be used extensively during the workshop to give
participants enough practice during the workshop.
