Maths
In Maths we have learnt about adding fractions. Your task this week, is to add some fractions which you can make using a dice. You can draw pictures if needed, please remember to use a ruler and the squares in your book to help you!
Roll your dice to make your denominator (use the same denominator for both fractions). Then roll your dice twice more to get the two numerators. Add your two fractions together.
All – Calculate 5 addition sentences for fractions. e.g. 2/6 + 3/6 = 5/6
Challenge – If you make an improper fraction (when the numerator is bigger than the denominator), can you turn it into a mixed number (a whole number and the fraction remaining)?
Spellings
The spelling rule for this week is words containing the double consonant ‘ll’. For example, bell and really.
You should find five of these words and write them in five sentences. Please do this in the back of your English homework book. Remember to use capital letters and appropriate punctuation. Try to make your sentences as exciting as possible.
I will choose 5 of these words for our test on Friday.
English
In English this week, we have been using alliteration. For your home learning, I would like you to write your own alliteration poem, like you have done in class.
Can you make your poem a riddle? Think about the subject of your poem while you are writing it and try to describe it using alliteration.
Remember, don’t tell me what your subject is and I will try to guess! How well can you describe it?
Please write in your best handwriting and decorate your riddle if you have time!
Tables
You should be practising your tables regularly. Every Friday, we will have a tables test where you will have 32 questions to answer in 10 minutes.
The result from your last test is

This week, I would like you to find out about the lost city of Atlantis. Draw a simple map to show where it might have been and what it could have looked like.
There are different theories as to why it may have disappeared but you need to write about the one that you think is the most likely explanation.
You may use the A4 paper provided or you can present your work in a more imaginative way…!
