Any student wishing to enrol in the Financial Services Associate Program and receive recognition of prior learning. What are the requirements for recognition of prior learning? To be considered for the FSA you need to have: • successfully completed a relevant subject(s) in a finance-related postgraduate course. • a finance-related postgraduate qualification; or • a credentialing program. Your postgraduate studies must have been completed within the past five years to be considered. What credentialing programs are recognised for the FSA? Finsia recognises the following credentialing programs • Certified Financial Analysts (CFA) • Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) • Chartered Accountants (CA) • Certified Public Accountants qualification offered by Global Accounting Alliance (GAA) members • Certified Financial Planner (CFP). What supporting documentation do I need to provide to enrol in the FSA? Basis for RPL application Subject(s) in a financerelated postgraduate course Finance-related postgraduate qualification A credentialing program Evidence How do I get my supporting documents for my FSA application certified? Certified copies of your qualifications must be verified as true copies by a witness after sighting the original. The person certifying the copies must sight the original document and include the following details on all pages that contain information: • stamp or write, ‘This is a true copy of the document sighted by me’ • sign, date and provide contact details (name, address and telephone no.) • the official stamp or seal of their organisation or their profession and organisation name • the official ID/Member number of their profession. Who can certify copies of my qualifications? Finsia will accept copies of qualifications certified by anyone currently employed as: • an accountant (they must be a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants, the National Institute of Accountants, the Association of Taxation and Management Accountants or Registered Tax Agents). • a bank manager, but not a manager of a bank travel centre • a barrister, solicitor or patent attorney • a credit union branch manager • a commissioner for declarations • a Justice of the Peace • a medical practitioner (doctor) • Certified copies or original academic transcripts of successful completion of subject(s) • a police officer in charge of a police station, or of the rank of sergeant and above • Course and subject outlines from university handbook • a pharmacist • a postal manager • a principal of an Australian secondary college, high school or primary school. • Certified copies or original academic transcripts of successful completion of subject(s) Can I enrol in the FSA and then provide original or certified copies of my qualifications at a later date? • Course and subject outlines from university handbook Yes, but you will need to provide original or certified copies of your qualifications prior to commencement of the FSA program you enrol in.
