Transcript for: Regent’s Business School London Regent’s Business School London Complementing EBS the Regent’s Business School offers a range of degrees that do not require students to study languages. Students choosing RBS often have international experience and language skills and now wish to focus on their business education. The same high quality education is maintained across both Business Schools within the faculty. All courses have a strong focus on developing practical skills, ensuring students are fully equipped to begin working in positions of responsibility upon graduation. Amir Wagenstein (Graduated 1998) Director of Operations Future Electronics “I’ve been doing lots of PR for this school within the past 10 years without anyone asking me to do that, just because of the fact that this school helped me to get to where I am today. I work for Future Electronics which is the 3rd largest electronics distributor worldwide and I’m the Director of Operations for the European Middle East and Africa.” Students enjoy strong support from both staff and students, allowing them to achieve academic success, develop their business skills and begin networking. Heidi Lind Jenson (Danish) Global Business & Design Management. “What is unique about the place is the contacts you get, other universities in London you could say that they were cosmopolitan, but here you really get people from around the world, its from every single corner, and you get the teachers from around the world again, so you build a really really good network that I don’t think you’d be able to get anywhere else.” RBS offers BA honours degrees in Global Business Management with specific pathways in Finance, Marketing and Design. Each degree provides an excellent introduction to International Business. All students receive the academic guidance they need to ensure they choose the most appropriate pathway. Cecilia Biverson (Graduated 2003) Freelance Portfolio Manager “I studied Finance as the focus of my degree at Regent’s Business School and specifically a lot of my Finance teachers especially in Corporate Finance at Regent’s Business Schools they had real life experience, so they could teach you that. For example in my Corporate Finance class my teacher who at that time was running his own business could challenge a problem we had and was basically able to argue a different point of view from the textbooks. This is something that I found hugely beneficial.” Dr Richard Gregson Academic Director of RBS “The international dimension is extenuated here in Regent’s College because of the multicultural learning environment. In a typical class of 25 students we may well have 16 to 20 nationalities. I think in today’s very competitive business environment that is extremely important.” Martin Ivanov (Bulgarian) Global Financial Management “Every one of these nationalities brings the richness of their culture and the differences, and really that’s what makes us human – our differences. So, by incorporating these differences and by studying them I’m sure that I’m much more well prepared to be a truly multi-national citizen.” For those that used to, students can take courses taught in English at one of our partner institutions in the USA, South Africa, Asia or Australia. Similarly, our Careers Guidance and Internships office can arrange UK and international work placements for those students who want them. Frans Sjo (Swedish) Global Business Management “We hear every day that we live in times of globalisation, it is sort of transnationalism, people move around, and that goes for the market place when comes to work as well, you have to sort of be accustomed to an international work place and know the cultural sensitivity and sort of what comes with it.” Regent’s Business School London specialism in Management, Finance and Marketing is continued into a range of one year postgraduate courses. The MAs in Global Management with pathways in Marketing and Finance are designed for students wanting to enhance their proficiency in a specific subject area or to affect a successful career change in an increasingly competitive international job market. Dr Richard Gregson Academic Director of RBS “Our students are very aware both from the internship and placements they do, but also from the practical nature of the education that they receive from our staff.” Cecilia Biverson (Graduated 2003) Freelance Portfolio Manager “I considered a lot of other option in the US and in London, but ultimately decided to go to RBS and I’m really glad I did.”
