One of the main benefits of a CRM system is the ability to store important communications with the Customer or
Prospect Record. You will be able to record new communications records in SageCRM by using the NEW TASK option:
Those records then get stored on the Communications tab of the Company in SageCRM so you can pull up any record in
SageCRM and see who spoke with that Company last, and what was said.
SageCRM also includes an Outlook Plugin that we will show you how to install on your computers to allow CRM users to
FILE EMAILS from Outlook to SageCRM. Once the Outlook Plugin is installed, the user will see an additional CRM tab in
Outlook. CRM users can then select emails in Outlook and click on the FILE EMAIL button to make a copy of the email in
SageCRM. You also have the ability to SEND AND FILE when you send emails out of Outlook.
When you click on the FILE EMAIL button it
will make a copy of the selected email under
the appropriate company record in CRM.
Any attachments on the emails are also
included. The user can then delete the
email from Outlook if they would like!

A system for making sure you stay in touch with your Customers and Prospects.
One of the biggest challenges for sales organizations is making sure they touch base with their customers on a regular
basis. The base SageCRM system that we provide you includes a system for tracking the Last Communication Date and
it will flag accounts that haven’t been contacted in 30 days and 60 days so you can take action on those accounts.
On the Company Record in CRM we maintain the following fields.
As you enter in new communications (Phone, Email) your SageCRM system will automatically update these fields, and
each night it will automatically check to see if there are new Company Records that fall into the No Comm 30 Days or No
Comm 60 Days criteria, and set those fields to TRUE where appropriate.
You can then use those fields in lookups, groups, reports and best of all, dashboard gadgets. When we get to the
dashboards included, we will show you how we incorporate the NoComm30Days field into the gadgets.

your SageCRM users.
Here are the dashboards you get with your system out of the box. The dashboard gadgets are interactive, meaning you
can click on rows to jump to specific records, and you can click on charts to get detailed reports.
