Centre of Construction Law th 25 Anniversary Conference BIG QUESTIONS IN CONSTRUCTION LAW THURSDAY 28 JUNE 2012, 2pm-5.30pm (Great Hall, Strand Campus) FRIDAY 29 JUNE 2012, 9am-5.30pm (Arthur Lucas Lecture Theatre, Strand Campus) To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Centre of Construction Law and the MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution, our 2012 Conference will address a number of the big questions which have continued to trouble and test students and aficionados of construction law over the past 25 years: What can we learn from law and practice in other jurisdictions? How can parties deal effectively with delay? Can contracts contribute to cooperation and success? Is Safety to be found in Numbers? Do innovations in dispute resolution fulfill their promise? Standard forms – are they up to the job? For example, modern railway projects? The Conference will be opened by the Principal, Professor Sir Richard Trainor KBE and a keynote address by Lord Sutherland who, as Principal from 1985‐1990, presided over the birth of the Centre. The Anniversary Dinner will be held, following a drinks reception, at Gray’s Inn on Thursday 28 June 2012 at 7pm. The Conference is sponsored by Pinsent Masons and supported by The Society of Construction Law, who were both key supporters in the establishment of the Centre and have continued their support over the years.
