Warwick’s new velvet range.
Surprisingly tough.
Additionally, Warwick Halo
fabrics are resistant to pilling,
mould and mildew and are
impervious to attack by moths,
silverfish and insect pests.
Warwick Fabric’s extensive
velvet offer presents three
distinctively decorative qualities,
whilst ensuring the peace of
mind of Halo high performance
and easy clean characteristics.
have been developed to give
modern interpretation to
classical constructions,
ensuring each quality is at
home in traditional, modern
and directional interiors.
‘Entice’ emulates the appeal of
a classic dry cotton velvet but
incorporates the high
performance and easy clean
characteristics of 100%
polyester fibre. Its subtle
surface texture is ideal for both
drapery and upholstery
applications.
Durability
Entice, Glamour and Liaison
each achieve a heavy
commercial rating, making
them suitable for both high use
residential and commercial
applications. Additionally
Liaison and Entice have a stain
repellent finish for extra
durability and practicality.
‘Glamour’ is woven from micro
denier polyester fibres to
capture the sheen, elegance
and softness of classic silk
velvets. Glamour conveys an
eloquent opulence in
combination with a robust heavy
commercial durability for both
drapery and upholstery
applications.
‘Liaison’ is the jewel in the
velvet crown. Incorporating
both a subtle horizontal texture
and a light surface iridescence,
reproducing the elegance of
high style linen velvets. Liaison
embraces a unique
combination of durability and
practicality with high end
elegance, for both residential
and heavy commercial
upholstery applications.
Most importantly, the extensive
colour palette offered across
Entice, Glamour and Liaison
Warwick Halo fabrics are
compatible with independent
retail fabric protection and
guarantee programs. These
programs enhance the fabric’s
ability to resist liquid staining
by providing a spill repellent
surface and/or warranties to
cover accidental damage.
Warwick Halo fabrics are the
perfect choice for customers
who require highly durable,
easy clean, fashionable and
functional fabrics.

Easy Clean
Entice, Glamour and Liaison
are all proud members of our
Warwick Halo brand which
highlights high performance
easy clean fabrics.
Bruising
Velvet deliveries received from
Warwick are packaged and
protected by corrugated board.
Despite this precaution,
bruising can occur if the parcel
is dropped or heavily crushed. If
this occurs it is recommended
that the fabric be unrolled and
laid on the table either flat or in
gentle folds and left for several
days. This procedure will allow
the pile to ’breathe’ and recover
naturally. Any severe
bruising can be removed by
gentle steaming.
All Warwick Halo fabrics
are woven to precise
specifications and tested to
exacting standards for
colourfastness, abrasion,
inherent stain resistance,
safety* and in the case of our
velvets, pile removal. If they
pass, they receive the
Warwick Halo hallmark.
Pile Loss
To protect against pile loss
incurred when velvets are
upholstered onto foam, we
recommend high wear areas be
completely covered by Dacron
or Calico. In particular, side
and end panels of foam seat
cushions should not be
overlooked.
All three qualities have been
tested for AS1530.3 fire
retardant certification. The
results are located in the
test standards section of this
brochure. To receive certificate
copies please contact your local
Warwick representative.
Manufacturing
Please ensure that furniture is
upholstered with the pile facing
downwards. This prevents dust
particles becoming trapped in
your fabric which can lead to
premature wear. Traditionally
velvet curtains are made with
the pile facing up as this gives
a deeper colour, however with
today’s practical velvets it is
best to check with the customer
as to their preference when
making drapes. In the case of
Glamour, by hanging curtains
with the pile up you will lose the
majority of the shine on the face
of the fabric.
We also recommend all velvet
curtains should be lined to
prevent pile-loss and colour
fading, lining will also give a
nicer overall drape.
Please note: Velvets are not suitable for
roman blinds.
Shading
Orientation of pile fibres will
be disrupted when sat upon,
resulting in an apparently
different shade on contact
areas. This disruption of the pile
fibres and consequent apparent
colour change are inherent
characteristics and should not
be considered as defects.
Transport
Please be careful when
transporting your furniture.
DO NOT lean anything sharp
or hard against the face of the
fabric as the pile of the cloth
will bruise and be permanently
damaged if not handled
correctly. If using a transport
company each piece should
always be marked for TOP
LOAD ONLY.

Regular care (weekly)
– Vacuum regularly using
low suction
Curtain care
Curtaining velvet needs care in
handling and use.
– Rotate reversible
cushions regularly
When velvet curtains are hung for
the first time it is recommended
that they be drawn across and
finely sprayed with water. The
spray should dampen but not soak
the velvet. The curtains should
then be left to dry and under no
circumstances to be touched
during this period. When the
curtains are dry, most creases
and marks will have come out
and the pile should have lifted to
reveal the richness and lustre of
the velvet. If initially cared for, the
pile should continue to improve
as the atmosphere lifts it. This
process can continue for several
months.
– Protect from direct sunlight
Cleaning
Do not remove cushion covers for
separate cleaning or washing,
even though they may have
zippers. Shampoo clean using
upholstery shampoo. Do not use
dishwashing or laundry detergents.
Do not wet filling. Do not scrub
with a stiff brush. Gently vacuum
to restore pile. Alternatively;
Clean with hot-water extraction
machine (hot). Professional
cleaning recommended. Use only
upholstery detergent. Do not wet
filling. Gently vacuum to restore
pile. Or alternatively;
Clean using on-site dry cleaning
machine. Professional cleaning
recommended. Do not wet filling
with solvent. Exhaust solvent
outside building. Dry in shade
away from direct heat.
Allow to dry thoroughly before
re-use.
Spot cleaning
Treat spills and stains as soon as
possible. Gently scrape any soil or
mop any liquid from the surface of
the fabric, apply proprietary
cleaning agents strictly according
to instructions to remove the
residue of the spill. Do not saturate
the fabric or interior with water or
other cleaning liquids. May be spot
cleaned with dry cleaning solvent.
Annual professional cleaning
recommended.

Window fittings coming in contact
with the curtain should be avoided.
Stiff brushing or strong vacuum
cleaning on the reverse side of
velvet can also pull at the pile.
Draw cords or other methods
of drawing without handling the
curtain itself are recommended,
as grasping, particularly with
