Tin Whistle, beginner Anne Archer
Guitar, Jammin’ with Jones* Craig Jones
Jamming — the art of spontaneous ensemble playing — is what elevates
the skilled solo practitioner to the accomplished band member. It’s
the marriage of feeling, science and art in which one learns to listen
outside of one’s instrumental contribution to the greater whole and
predict where the groove or changes are going to go. Not only is
jamming more fun than ought to be allowed, it’s an invaluable way
to connect with other players and bring your powers of expression
to their height. This workshop will demonstrate some of the basic
techniques for successful — and enjoyable — jamming and leave
everyone smiling at the end.
