Foreword
S. V. Sunder Krishnan
Chairman– ISACA India
Growth Task Force
The ISACA® India
Growth Task Force is a
body of persons that was
formed essentially with an
objective to form an apex
-level single body to
represent ISACA
members across India
with the government,
regulators, industry and
other like-minded
professional
organisations, in the space
of IS audit, IT governance,
IT risk management and
IT security. It is practically
difficult for an ISACA
chapter to represent
ISACA professionals
spread across the
country, with the above
bodies such as
government, regulators
(including RBI, SEBI,
IRDA, Company Law
Board) and the like.
While the task force
provides the thought
leadership and a thinking
head for various ISACA
professionals, the real
hands and legs are the
Back To Index
grass root chapters. To
be effective, the chapters
and the task force need to
work in unison towards
the betterment of the
ISACA professionals—
both in terms of quantum
leap and qualitative
enrichment. ISACA@India
is a news digest that
precisely embodies the
spirit of cooperation and
contribution of the
various chapters and the
task force.
The news digest
henceforth would
highlight not only various
activities and projects
undertaken by the task
force—in the form of
mapping of RBI Guidelines
to COBIT® 5, mapping of
Company Law 2013 to
COBIT 5, projects
undertaken with the
knowledge partner
IDRBT, joint initiatives
with CSI, joint initiatives
with other professional
organisations such as ICAI
and articles written by
task force members—but
also activities of various
chapters, including COBIT
5 training, workshops,
conferences and chapter/
program committee
meetings, for example.
This initiative is just a
beginning to taking the
ISACA community in India
to the next level. The
excellent work completed
by various chapters and
the task force members is
highly commendable and I
am sure it will greatly
benefit the ISACA
community worldwide and
the industry.

India Growth Task Force Report For
April 2013 to March 2014
The India Growth Task Force (IGTF) has made significant progress in fulfilling various objectives that
were identified for the year 2013-2014. Following is a brief summary.
Promote and increase awareness of ISACA in India, in order to develop growth
opportunities within the country by developing local guidance and newsworthy
webcasts that attract the interest of the local professionals.
Avinash W. Kadam

Advisor, ISACA IGTF
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had published guidelines ‗Information Security, Electronic
Banking, Technology Risk Management and Cyber Frauds‘ in 2011. Implementation of these
guidelines is mandatory for all banks in India. IGTF published ‗RBI Guidelines Mapping With

processes for implementing the RBI Guidelines. This activity has been appreciated by RBI,
and IGTF was invited for a series of meetings to identify further areas of collaboration.

Four webinars were conducted for the Indian audiences:

‗Virtualization and Security—VMware‘ on 3 April 2013

Sponsored the ISACA IDRBT Award for Managing IT Risk. This was presented on
2 August 2013 by the RBI governor at a function attended by banking chiefs.

Conducted ‗Introduction to COBIT®5‘in six major cities. These were initiated by
IDRBT and hosted by major banks in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata

at ICAI to adopt ‗ISACA Model Curriculum for IS Audit and Information Security
Management‘ and offer courses to ICAI members. This will pave the way to create
awareness about ISACA with ICAI members and encourage them to take ISACA
certifications.
