Carter McNamara, MBA, PhD
Carter is co-founder of Authenticity Consulting, LLC, a Minnesota-based
firm specializing in organizational development, strategic planning and
leadership development. He has over 20 years of experience in facilitating
planning and teaching others how to facilitate planning. He is author of
Field Guide to Nonprofit Strategic Planning and Facilitation.
 He has 25 years of real-world leadership and management experience in
a variety of organizations, including start-up, public-private, nonprofit
and for-profit.
 Carter teaches the seminar "Organizational Development and Change"
for the Center for Nonprofit Management at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis,
Minnesota.
 He also teaches the seminar "Organization Development 101" for the Minnesota Organization
Development Network.
 His PhD included strong focus on nonprofit organization and management development.
 He is founder and developer of Leaders CirclesSM, the national peer-based development
program for nonprofit executive directors, provided by MAP for Nonprofits.
 He is nationally recognized expert in Founder's Syndrome, a problem encountered by many
nonprofits across the world.

 Carter won the University of St. Thomas’ Business Excellence Award for donating over 200
hours a year for four years to local nonprofit organizations.
 The Minnesota Organization Development Network awarded Carter, “OD Practitioner of the
Year,” in part for his many contributions to nonprofits and the profession of OD.
 Carter holds a BA in Social and Behavioral Sciences, BS in Computer Science, MBA from
the University of St. Thomas (Minneapolis), and a PhD in Human and Organization
Development from The Union Institute (Cincinnati).
