4. Leave of Absence (LOA)
• Accept a request from Heather McManigal, Intervention Specialist (LD/CC)
at Tussing Elementary who is requesting a 9-week child care Leave of
Absence (LOA) beginning approximately August 23, 2012 and following up
with Family Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA) as needed. Anticipated
return date October 29, 2012.
5. Job Share
• Approve a job share for Teresa Parulekar (.50 FTE) and Mark Yoder (.50
FTE) Instrumental Music teacher position at Lakeview Junior High School
effective for the 2012-2013 school year.
6. Certificated Transfer
• Approve the transfer of Michelle Hurd from Special Education Intervention
Specialist – LD (1.0 FTE) at Lakeview Junior High School, 7.5 hours per day

1. Approval of W.I.S.E. (Winning Interventions for Student Excellence) Program at
Ridgeview Junior High School for the 2012-2013 school year. Funding has
been received from United Way in the amount of $19,720 to help regular
education students who are receiving below average or failing grades and test
scores improve their organizational skills, study skills and rate of work
completion.

Approve Amendment to Treasurer Dan Griscomʼs Contract of Employment for
$5,000 to provide services to the Pickerington Community School for the 20122013 school year. District will be reimbursed by Pickerington Community School.
C.
Approve Supplemental Contract of $5,000 for Bob Blackburn to perform additional
duties of Superintendent for the Pickerington Community School for the 2012-2013
school year. District will be reimbursed by Pickerington Community School.

to include speech and language pathology services for a maternity leave during the
2012-2013 school year at a rate of $59.00 per hour. These services will begin on
or about September 24, 2012.

Approval of Contract with Eagle Wings Academy
The district has special needs students who have behavioral needs that require
services beyond that which the district can reasonably provide. Arrangements have
been made to place these students at the Eagle Wings Academy. These
placements are based upon each studentʼs Individualized Education Program
(IEP).
The cost of placement at Eagle Wings Academy is $120.31 daily, with a maximum
of $22,739.20 per year. A portion of the cost will come from the IDEA Part B Grant
(Special Education). Some students may be foster students and their district of
residence will be billed the entire cost of the program.

a fee.
2. Mrs. Reade mentioned the W.I.S.E. program at Ridgeview Junior High and
asked if it would also be made available at Lakeview. Mr. Blackburn answered
not at this time.

provide operating revenues necessary to enable the district to operate an adequate educational program on all days
