Courses must represent 3 different SMC deptartments (Choose from Pre-Approved Course List)
Exception:
Can use one 2000+ Production Course for 1. - 2.
Internship can be applied to 1. - 5. (not WI or 4000+)
Grades:
All courses in Comm St major must be completed with a grade of C or higher

Students fill out a proposal form (available from the Major Coordinator) for their study plan, thesis, and the list
of courses and submit it to the Communication Studies Major Coordinator [TUJ].
It may be recommended for students to choose courses which may be directly related to their thesis.

Communication Studies Major Coordinator [TUJ] forwards the students' proposal to the Communication
Studies Major Chair [Main Campus].

Communication Studies Major Chair [Main Campus] will inform the Communication Studies Major Coordinator
[TUJ] of the decision of students' acceptance into the Thesis Track.

Communication Studies Major Coordinator [TUJ] will inform students of the decision.
5
Communication Studies Major Coordinator [TUJ] will submit the approved list of courses for each students to
the Academic Advising Center [AAC] for further advising and graduation clearance.
