How We Compete In A Global Ag Economy North Central Farmers Elevator and Wheat Growers have competed very well against each other for many years. We know that if the proposed merger goes through, the new cooperative will need to be even more competitive going forward. The past several years we have seen several multi-national companies enter the current marketplace. ADM has facilities at Tulare, Miller and Harrold. Cargill entered the market in a joint ownership in Aberdeen. Gavilon has facilities in Oakes, ND and Kimball, SD. Wilber-Ellis, CPS, and Pinnacle have expanded in the agronomy business the past couple of years. CHS continues to be aggressive as they expand their regionalizations throughout the upper Midwest. While both companies in our own right are large, the combined sales of the new coop will be several times smaller than any multinational company that we compete against in our current marketplace.
