Aaron will replace our current Client Development Manager / Account Manager, Jackie Burke, who will be heading off for maternity leave on the 24th of September. Aaron brings to this role 15 years experience in customer service, sales and training with leading airlines, Sabre Travel Network and a global travel management company. Aaron was, most recently, Global Account Manager (Corporate) for British Airways, where he led strategy implementation for global accounts including HSBC, Goldman Sachs, PwC and Accenture. He was also Business Sales Account Manager for Iberia Airlines of Spain. Through these and other roles Aaron has become a highly experienced client management leader with proven success in growing relationships with his customers and key decision makers. Born in Perth and having worked in the travel industry in both Australia and the UK, Aaron has travelled extensively through Europe, including two years in community service roles in Northern Italy. Aaron is fluent in Italian, and also speaks basic Spanish and German. UQ Travel Grant Winner Dr Harendra (Harry) Parekh, Senior Lecturer at UQ's School of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Australia Centre of Excellence (PACE), has been awarded the Campus Travel and Qantas sponsored UQ Employee Travel Grant. Dr Parekh is working on a globally leading technology solution, called 'nanobubbles' which his PACE team has developed to deliver drugs to target internal tissue. Dr Parekh's development of the nanobubble has the potential to contribute significantly to the profile of UQ. Additionally, the Travel Grant will enable Dr Parekh to develop the skills necessary for him to commercialise a unique discovery. A feature story will be available on the PACE project towards the end of the month. The independent lounge operated by Priority Pass and Swissport is called ‘Aspire, the Lounge and Spa at LHR T5’. Page 2 September 2015 New Emirates codeshare Emirates has entered into a new codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways. The new deal adds 14 destinations flown by the Thai airline to the carrier’s global network, including Koh Samui and Chiang Mai in Thailand, Siem Reap in Cambodia and Yangon and Mandalay in Myanmar. Air NZ ups AKL - BNE Air New Zealand plans to up frequency on its Auckland-Brisbane route. The carrier will add two weekly services between 11 December and 26 March, raising the total on the route to 16 weekly. Kenya Visa on Arrival Changes Kenya will no longer issue visas on arrival effective 01 Sep 2015. Travellers must now pre-register for electronic visas in advance of travel and produce a printed copy of the E-Visa on check-in. Travellers can apply online at www.evisa.go.ke or contact their nearest Kenyan Embassy, High Commission or Consulate. Campus Travel are able to register and make visa applications on our clients’ behalf, with applications currently being approved within 24 hours. Officials are also working towards an instant real-time approval process for last minute travellers. The E-Visa is valid for 90 days from the date of approval, not from the date of arrival in Kenya.
