1 2 3 It takes 10,000 hrs to become an expert. This programme is designed to support professionals to structure their practice on that journey to mastery in a focused way as we see a new type of professional enter the marketplace in forensic emotion awareness and deception detection. www.10000-hrs.com The Emotional Intelligence Academy is pleased to announce the launch of the MSc in Forensic Emotion Awareness* Following two years of development we are now taking applications for the first stage of this initiative which will start in September 2012. It is a blended programme using online support and resources with (compulsory) masterclasses. This is designed to serve an international group and we are looking for a wide representation across organisational, business and professional sectors. The pilot programme will be centred in the UK though we expect the attendance element of the programme to be widened in future programmes. The goal of the PG Certificate is to provide a six-module foundation that will include: Ø Emotional Skills and Competencies Ø Evaluating Truthfulness and Credibility Ø The Anatomy of the Face (FACS) Ø Attentiveness and Mindfulness Ø Interviewing and Conversation Management Ø The Autonomic Nervous System. These ‘ten-credit’ modules will be delivered in a blended, modular format using resources, workbooks and other media plus online resources and support so as to minimize travel, accommodation and time away from work and home. Those who have good passes of these specific modules, with any of the Paul Ekman International approved centres, will be given credit against those modules of the programme. The programme not only draws from wide professional and academic contexts, it also leads onto research and real world applications in the final year across a diverse spectrum to take this science into the many professional sectors that need it. Inside… Ø Overview of the MSc modules – this unique programme brings together the best of Dr Ekman’s work along with other leading scientists in the fields of emotion awareness and deception detection drawing from the traditional University disciplines of Psychology, Linguistics, Sociology, Forensics and Communications.
